 THANKS FOR 5,000 hits!

Myself and other local artists and crafters will be displaying our work at this event on July 18th and 19th at the Burgeo Arena. In my case, I will be painting on-site and I invite any and all visitors to sit and paint rocks or cards with me. I will also be taking orders for commissions. If asked, I may sell a few pieces.

If any of you are in the area between July 17th and July 27th, I invite you to come celebrate with us! After Hometown Celebration is finished, Come Home Week will begin, and we'll end with our annual Sand & Sea Festival!

What the crap! I knew nothing about this change. And I freaking hate it. The last version was a hell of a lot nicer than this. Bah.

I have been deliberating over it, and I have decided that I will start taking commissions for a while, rather than paint something and then worry over whether anyone will buy it.

The reason for this is that, rather than rely on a student loan, I pay my university tuition with my own money. Recently, I completed my internship with CAP-NL, so much of that income has been put away in order to pay for tuition and books, and now I don't have a steady income. So, I need to start selling drawings and paintings.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in commissioning me, please comment below, send me a note, or email me here: kapink@uwaterloo.ca .

I paint in many different styles, not only what you see here in my gallery. I can also do pet portraits, human portraits (I have gotten a lot better at those since my first one!), landscapes, buildings, etc. Don't fret if you don't see a variety in my gallery -- I can email you with samples. I paint on many "canvases" as well -- rocks, bottles, standard canvas, cardboard, skateboards, footwear, wood, messenger bags, picture frames, binders... the list goes on. I can customize pretty much anything for you -- let me know what you want, and we can work something out.

For example: if you have a messenger bag that you want customized (ie, you want me to paint something on it), I can do that for you, no problem.

As always, a portion of all proceeds from pet portraits go to Bullies in Need (www.bulliesinneed.ca):

"Bullies in Need (BIN) is a non-profit dog rescue based in Ottawa, Ontario, but we have several helpful chapters throughout Ontario. We pride ourselves on the quality of loving dogs we rescue while working with shelters saving the bullies (and sometimes non-bullies) off of death row. Bullies in Need has fostered great relationships with shelters and we truly believe that the animal control, shelter staff and volunteers are the heart and soul behind saving the abandoned animals that our society leaves behind."

Please help me pay for school and support a worthwhile cause in the process by commissioning a painting from me.

Thanks and Take care!
